This n8n workflow ingests opportunity assessment data (manually or via a POST webhook), deterministically scores and ranks each item, applies delivery “wave” guardrails, and returns both structured JSON and a Markdown prioritisation report.

What this workflow does

The workflow runs in two ways:

• Manual run: start the workflow in n8n to review example opportunity data and expected output.
• Webhook run: accept a POST request on /prioritise-ai-automation-opportunities to prioritise opportunities in real time.

Once triggered, it:

• Normalises the incoming payload into an array of opportunity objects and flags invalid or missing input.
• Validates each opportunity contains a name and 1–5 scores for: business value, frequency, manual effort, process clarity, data readiness, ownership, delivery effort, and risk.
• Calculates subscores (including value, readiness, and friction) and combines them into a 0–100 priority score using a weighted formula.
• Applies a guardrail: work with low process clarity or no owner is forced into “Foundation first”.
• Sorts valid opportunities into a ranked backlog and assigns a recommended delivery wave:
  • Wave 1: Pilot
  • Wave 2: Prepare, Discover / design, or Foundation first
• Generates a Markdown report (portfolio summary, ranked table, scoring method) and returns JSON to the webhook caller.
