This n8n workflow collects job applications from an n8n form, stores resumes in Google Drive, evaluates candidates against your job requirements using an OpenAI chat model, and emails HR the AI recommendation—along with updated status in Google Sheets—for quick human review.

What this workflow does

• Receives applications via an n8n form trigger, capturing candidate details, cover letter, and a PDF resume.
• Creates a candidate record with a unique Candidate ID and uploads the resume to Google Drive.
• Logs everything in Google Sheets by appending candidate information plus the Google Drive link/file ID into a “Candidates” sheet.
• Extracts resume text by downloading the PDF from Google Drive and converting it into text.
• AI screening using OpenAI by sending the resume text and your job requirements to an OpenAI chat model, producing a JSON screening recommendation and score.
• Validates & updates results by parsing the AI JSON output, then writing AI Score, Screening Result, and HR Remarks back into the candidate row.
• Routes decisions into Strong Match, Review Required, or Low Match based on configurable score thresholds, updating the candidate’s workflow phase/status in Google Sheets.
• Email notifications to HR through Gmail with the AI recommendation so HR can review and proceed.
