Track Amazon Best Seller rank changes automatically—every morning, straight to Google Sheets and Slack
This Amazon Best Sellers Rank Tracker workflow for n8n pulls the Top 50 products from an Amazon Best Sellers category every day, compares their ranks to yesterday, writes a daily history to Google Sheets, and alerts you in Slack when a product enters the Top 10.
What this workflow does
- Runs daily at 06:00 using an n8n Schedule trigger.
- Fetches Amazon Best Sellers charts by calling the Amazon Best Sellers Scraper (Apify) via the workflow’s core HTTP Request node.
- Requests one Best Sellers page with categories: ["electronics"], limit capped at 50, and fillRanks enabled so ranks 1–50 are complete (Amazon renders only 30 entries per page unless ranks are filled).
- Computes rank moves in a Code node: it keeps type = product rows, looks up yesterday’s rank using workflow static data (up to 5,000 keys) by category|chart|asin, and calculates change (e.g., +3, -2, 0, or new).
- Appends all 50 rows to Google Sheets as a daily tracking history.
- Slack alert for new Top 10 entries: if change = new and rank ≤ 10, it posts one message per new entry; otherwise it does nothing.
Use cases
- Brand managers monitoring category momentum in Amazon Best Sellers.
- Product researchers hunting “movers” based on rank change.
- Agencies reporting daily chart positions to stakeholders with an audit-friendly Google Sheets history.
Technical details
- Apify actor: Amazon Best Sellers Scraper (invoked via HTTP Request run-sync endpoint).
- Authentication: use an n8n credential named Apify Header Auth with header Authorization = Bearer <your Apify token>.
- n8n nodes: Schedule Trigger, HTTP Request, Code, IF, Slack, NoOp, Sticky Note.
