Get a weekly “Top Product Hunt Leaderboard” email—automatically—every Friday
This n8n workflow uses Apify to pull the Product Hunt weekly leaderboard for your chosen topics, filters results by a minimum vote threshold, and emails you a ranked HTML digest via Gmail at 5:00 PM every Friday.
What this workflow does
- Runs on a schedule: scheduled every Friday at 17:00 (5 PM).
- Pulls weekly leaderboard data: uses the Apify actor dami_studio/producthunt-scraper to fetch Product Hunt leaderboard results for configured topics.
- Filters by votes: excludes launches that don’t meet your minVotes setting.
- Ranks the results: sorts the remaining launches by votes (descending).
- Builds an HTML digest: compiles the top N launches into a single ranked HTML email; if nothing qualifies, it generates a “no launches” message.
- Sends via Gmail: delivers the digest to your configured digestEmail address.
Use cases
- Track weekly momentum for specific SaaS categories by getting a ranked Product Hunt digest by email.
- Set a minimum vote threshold to surface only launches worth reviewing.
- Monitor competitors or emerging products without manually checking Product Hunt every week.
- Share curated weekly findings with your team using an email digest (optionally forwarding to Slack).
Technical details
- Apify: requires an Apify credential (API token) with access to run dami_studio/producthunt-scraper.
- Gmail: uses a Gmail credential to send the digest from n8n to your target address.
- n8n nodes: set, code, sort, gmail, slack, filter.
- Optional enhancements: post to Slack and/or archive results in Google Sheets by connecting the sorted launch output.
