Turn Google Maps searches into structured leads in Google Sheets—automatically
This n8n workflow collects Google Maps-style search queries from an n8n form, scrapes business details using Apify’s Google Maps Businesses actor, cleans and flattens the results, and then appends each lead as a new row in your Google Sheets “Leads” tab.
What this workflow does
- Receives input from an n8n form: one or more search queries, a target country, and optional lead filters.
- Runs Apify’s actor plainrows/google-maps-businesses for each query to fetch Google Maps business data, applying your selected max results and requirements such as website/phone.
- Filters and formats results by removing non-results and converting each place into a flat, readable structure—including an opening-hours string plus key fields like phone, website, rating, and the Google Maps URL.
- Appends leads to Google Sheets by writing every formatted business as a new row in the worksheet named Leads.
Use cases
- Lead generation for local businesses by running repeatable Google Maps searches (e.g., “plumber near me”) and storing verified fields in Google Sheets.
- Building a prospect list for outreach: scrape phone, website, rating, and location context into a single spreadsheet.
- Operational workflows for SaaS teams who need fresh lead rows after submitting new search queries through an n8n form.
Technical details
- Apify integration: uses an Apify API token with the community node @apify/n8n-nodes-apify and the actor plainrows/google-maps-businesses.
- n8n nodes used: code, sticky note, form trigger, Google Sheets, and @apify/n8n-nodes-apify.
- Output: Google Sheets worksheet tab named Leads, appending each business lead as a new row.
Setup requirements
You’ll need an Apify account (free plan supported) with an API token, Google Sheets OAuth credentials, the @apify/n8n-nodes-apify node available in your n8n instance, and a target spreadsheet URL to map the “Leads” tab.
