Apify + n8n: Weekly Google News Brand Mentions to Google Sheets

This n8n workflow automatically searches Google News every week for the brands and topics you choose, then appends one row per article to Google Sheets—complete with headline, source, publication date, snippet, and a link.

What this workflow does

• Runs weekly: Scheduled for every Monday at 8:00 AM.
• Defines watch terms: Uses your configured brands/topics plus a target country and language for Google News coverage.
• Performs one search per watch term: For each watch term, it runs a Google News search via the Apify actor johnvc~GoogleNewsAPI (one search = one set of results).
• Skips empty results: If a watch term returns no articles, that term is skipped.
• Formats results into rows: For each article, it generates rows including week, watch term, rank, headline, source, published text, snippet, and link.
• Appends to Google Sheets: Adds the generated rows to your selected spreadsheet and worksheet.

Technical details

• Apify integration: Requires an Apify API token credential and access to johnvc~GoogleNewsAPI.
• Google Sheets integration: Uses Google OAuth to append rows to the chosen spreadsheet/worksheet.
• n8n nodes used: set, code, filter, split out, sticky note, and a Google Sheets append step.
• Customization: Add/remove watch terms in the config node; each term becomes its own Google News search and produces its own article rows.
