Automate Monthly Attendance with Excel and Email Alerts
Transform your manual attendance tracking into a fully automated system that generates monthly Excel reports and sends email notifications without any human intervention. This n8n workflow eliminates the tedious task of creating attendance sheets by automatically processing data, updating spreadsheets, and delivering reports to your inbox every month.
What this workflow does
This intelligent automation runs precisely on the 21st of every month to streamline your attendance management process. The workflow begins by generating a dynamic file name based on the current year and month, then copies your predefined Excel template and renames it accordingly. It automatically updates the year and month fields within the spreadsheet and calculates attendance data for the specific period from the 21st of the previous month to the 20th of the current month. Once the data is processed and written into the Excel file, the workflow downloads the completed report, attaches it to a Gmail draft, and sends a notification email confirming successful completion.
Use cases
- HR teams managing employee attendance without dedicated HR software
- Small business owners tracking team attendance across multiple projects
- Department managers generating monthly attendance reports for payroll processing
- Team leads automating recurring administrative tasks and reducing manual data entry
- Organizations with custom payroll cycles requiring specific date ranges
