Automate Shopify Orders: Fraud Scoring & Supplier Updates
Stop manually reviewing every Shopify order and chasing suppliers for fulfillment updates. This intelligent n8n workflow automatically scores new orders for fraud risk, routes high-risk transactions for human review, and seamlessly pushes legitimate orders to your dropshipping suppliers while keeping your team informed through Slack and Google Sheets.
What this workflow does
When a new order hits your Shopify store, this automation instantly springs into action. OpenAI analyzes each order using advanced fraud detection, scoring risk (0-100) based on order total, billing/shipping address mismatches, suspicious email domains, and line item patterns. Orders scoring above 70 are flagged as high-risk and posted to your Slack #order-review channel with detailed reasoning, stopping automated fulfillment until human approval.
Clean orders automatically flow through the complete fulfillment pipeline: logged to Google Sheets for record-keeping, sent to your dropshipping supplier (AliExpress, CJ Dropshipping, Zendrop, or Printful) via their API endpoint, followed by a personalized thank-you email generated by OpenAI and sent through Gmail. Your team gets notified in the #fulfillment Slack channel once processing completes.
Use cases
- Dropshipping stores processing 20-2,000 weekly orders need automated fraud protection without sacrificing fulfillment speed
- DTC brands want to eliminate manual order review while maintaining quality control and customer communication
- Agency-managed stores require scalable order processing across multiple Shopify accounts with centralized monitoring
- High-volume merchants where manual fraud review bottlenecks growth but chargebacks threaten profit margins
Technical details
Built with essential n8n nodes including Shopify Trigger, OpenAI integration, Set and Code nodes for data processing, IF node for conditional routing, Gmail connector, Slack notifications, and Google Sheets logging. The HTTP Request node handles supplier API calls, making it compatible with any dropshipping platform offering webhook integration.
Setup requires connecting your Shopify, OpenAI, Gmail, Slack, and Google Sheets credentials, plus configuring your supplier's webhook URL and preparing a tracking spreadsheet with the specified column structure.
