This n8n workflow lets you open a chat, ask questions like “best month?” or “revenue by country”, and have an AI agent read your Google Sheets in real time to compute answers from the actual rows—no guessing. With conversation memory, follow-up questions also work naturally.

What this workflow does

• When You Ask a Question: Use n8n’s hosted chat (the When User Asks Question → Chat step) to type your request in plain language.
• Answer With Data, Not Guesses: The AI agent uses the Read the Spreadsheet tool to pull live rows from your selected Google Sheet and compute the result from real data.
• Conversation memory: Context is kept so you can ask follow-ups like “and the month before that?”
• Numbers in the chat: Responses return in the chat with the actual computed values.

Setup (five-minute setup)

• Connect an OpenAI (or compatible) credential in OpenAI Analyst Model.
• Connect your Google Sheets account in Read Data from Sheets and select the spreadsheet + sheet the agent should read.
• Optional, recommended: Add a one-line description of your columns in the Data-Driven Response Agent system message (e.g., “Columns: Date, Country, Revenue in USD”).
• Activate the workflow and test via the chat.
