Turn Clerk events into a complete 7-email Brevo onboarding—automatically

This n8n workflow listens for Clerk signup/activation/upgrade events via a webhook, then runs a Brevo (Sendinblue) 7-email drip onboarding for free users. If the contact becomes Pro, the workflow immediately updates Brevo attributes and moves the contact to the Pro list—so the remaining free onboarding sequence stops.

What this workflow does

• Receives webhook events: Accepts a POST request on the your-product-onboarding path (either Clerk user.created or a backend payload containing event, email, firstname, and contactId).
• Normalizes and routes the event: Converts the incoming payload into a consistent structure and branches based on signup, activated, or upgrade_pro.
• On signup (FREE): Upserts the contact in Brevo, sets onboarding attributes (e.g., PLAN=FREE and IS_ACTIVATED=false), adds the contact to list 6, and sends the Welcome email.
• Plan-aware email sequence: After each wait period, the workflow re-fetches the contact from Brevo and exits the sequence if PLAN=PRO by moving the contact from list 6 to list 3.
• Uses activation state to fast-forward: If the contact remains on FREE, it continues through the remaining onboarding emails, using the Brevo IS_ACTIVATED flag to choose the appropriate branch.
• On activated: Updates Brevo contact attribute IS_ACTIVATED=true to ensure later checks can fast-forward to the later part of the sequence.
• On upgrade_pro (switch to Pro immediately): Sets PLAN=PRO and moves the contact from list 6 to list 3 so waiting executions stop at the next plan check.
