Compare Google SERPs by Market—Automatically in n8n (HasData + Sheets)
Want to see how the same English search topic performs across two countries before you localize? This n8n workflow fetches paired Google SERPs by market, samples the ranking pages, extracts titles/headings/excerpts with HasData, and saves everything to Google Sheets for an editor’s localization review.
What this workflow does
- Reads topics and paired queries: The workflow loads topic IDs and two market-specific queries from the Topics tab, validates market settings, and rejects duplicate topics or oversized batches before making paid requests.
- Checks existing results: It reads prior Results and checks saved keys to avoid rework.
- Collects paired SERPs: For each topic, it searches both markets using the configured location and country code, desktop device, and English interface language. It retains both SERPs, but failed searches—or fewer than five usable results in either market—produce insufficient evidence for an intent conclusion.
- Selects comparable pages: It chooses unique pages from the top three results in round-robin order. A shared page limit applies across all topics and markets (not separately per query).
- Reads pages with HasData: Using HasData, it extracts main text, titles, and headings. Source URLs stay attached to the output; failed reads and truncated excerpts remain visible. If the sample is empty, page requests are skipped without discarding the SERPs.
- Saves an editor-friendly review sheet: Results, paired comparisons, page samples, unvisited URLs, and editorial questions are written to Google Sheets so localization decisions are grounded in real SERP evidence.
Use cases
- Compare what ranks in two countries before adapting English content for SEO.
- Collect shared URLs/domains and evidence for editorial localization planning.
- Surface unvisited ranking URLs that an editor may need to review manually.
