This n8n workflow automatically pulls the latest AI and tech-startup articles from NewsAPI, analyzes them with OpenAI (gpt-4o-mini), stores unique insights in PostgreSQL, then posts a polished daily executive-style digest to your Slack channel.

What this workflow does

• Runs daily at 08:00 using an n8n schedule trigger.
• Fetches news from NewsAPI: retrieves the five most recent English articles that match your configured AI/tech-startup keywords.
• Filters relevant items by splitting the response into article items and keeping only those whose description matches specified AI-related terms.
• Analyzes each article with OpenAI (gpt-4o-mini) to generate structured JSON insights: summary, category, sentiment, importance score, trend keywords, and “why it matters.”
• Deduplicates in PostgreSQL by checking whether the article URL already exists in the ai_news table—then inserts only new articles.
• Creates a daily digest by aggregating stored items into a daily payload (including top trend keywords) and asking OpenAI to write an executive digest based strictly on that payload.
• Posts to Slack the generated digest plus the number of processed articles and the top trends list.
