Turn any RSS feed into daily content drafts for Google Business Profile & social posts
This free n8n workflow creates a daily sheet of content ideas for a local-service business by pulling new items from an RSS feed you choose, then saving them as editable drafts in Google Sheets. If you’re looking for an easy way to stay consistent with local content—without manual searching—this automation is built for you.
What this workflow does
- Runs once per day on a schedule (default time: 8:00am).
- Reads your selected RSS feed (for example, a supplier blog, industry association feed, or local news source).
- Converts each new feed item into a draft row including: date, headline, source, link, and a suggested angle tailored to a local-service business.
- Saves everything to a Google Sheet named Content Drafts. These are starting points—finished posts are not generated; you add 2–3 sentences in your own words.
Use cases
- Local service marketing: Generate weekly-ready ideas for Google Business Profile updates and social posts from industry news.
- Busy operators: Keep a rolling backlog of draft topics so you never start from a blank page.
- Automation engineers & SaaS operators: Use a simple RSS-to-Sheets pattern as a foundation for larger workflows.
Technical details
- Workflow: Schedule Trigger + RSS feed read + Google Sheets write.
- Nodes used (as included in the workflow): set, sticky note, RSS Feed Read, Google Sheets, and Schedule Trigger.
- Setup: Create a Google Sheet called Content Drafts and add headers: Date | Headline | Source | Link | Suggested Angle | Status.
- Requirements: n8n (self-hosted or n8n Cloud) and a Google account. No API keys and no paid services.
Import the workflow, select your spreadsheet, replace the RSS feed URL, and start collecting daily content drafts automatically.
