Automate your daily X posts from real weather—powered by n8n, OpenAI, and Google Sheets
This n8n workflow runs every day at 07:00, fetches the current weather from OpenWeatherMap, uses OpenAI to write a weather-matched post for X (Twitter), publishes it, and logs everything to Google Sheets.
What this workflow does
- Schedules daily runs: Executes automatically every day at 07:00.
- Pulls current weather: Retrieves the current conditions for your configured city from OpenWeatherMap.
- Classifies the day into a marketing bucket: Converts temperature to Celsius and categorizes conditions into one of four buckets: rain, hot, cold, or pleasant.
- Applies a campaign angle by bucket: Uses your four configurable angle texts (one per bucket) to guide messaging.
- Generates a single post with OpenAI: Sends weather + selected angle to an OpenAI chat model to produce one social post limited to max 260 characters, following the style rules you provide.
- Publishes to X and logs results: Posts the generated text to X (Twitter), then appends the date, weather, temperature, bucket, and post text to your Google Sheets document.
Use cases
- SaaS operators who want daily, context-aware engagement without manual writing.
- Automation engineers building weather-to-marketing pipelines using n8n.
- Brands that tailor promotions based on conditions (e.g., umbrellas for rain, comfort messaging for pleasant days).
