DeFi Liquidation Risk Monitor (n8n) + GPT-4.1 Slack Alerts
Monitor your DeFi lending position every 10 minutes—calculate liquidation risk in real time, log every check to Google Sheets, and automatically send GPT-4.1–written Slack alerts when risk changes or escalates.
What this workflow does
- Runs on a schedule (every 10 minutes) to continuously monitor a lending position.
- Loads monitoring configuration (including the lending position API URL and asset price API URL, plus any threshold values you provide).
- Fetches lending position data via HTTP and proceeds only when collateral amount, debt amount, and liquidation threshold are all greater than zero.
- Fetches the live collateral asset price via HTTP and continues only when the USD price is greater than zero.
- Calculates liquidation risk metrics—including health factor, estimated liquidation price, and distance to liquidation—then classifies the position risk level.
- Detects when alerts are needed based on the previous risk level (risk change and escalation).
- Logs results to Google Sheets by appending each monitoring run to the “Monitoring History” worksheet.
- Generates AI-written Slack alerts using OpenAI (GPT-4.1), posts to your Slack channel, and records the alert in “Alert History.”
Use cases
- SaaS operators and DeFi teams monitoring client or treasury lending positions for liquidation risk.
- Automation engineers who want an auditable, spreadsheet-backed risk trail plus Slack notifications.
- Active DeFi users running n8n workflows to track health factor drift and react before liquidation thresholds are reached.
Technical details
- n8n nodes/logic: if, set, code, Slack, sticky note, HTTP Request.
- External services: HTTP endpoints (lending position + asset price APIs), Google Sheets (“Monitoring History” and “Alert History”), Slack, and OpenAI (GPT-4.1).
Setup: provide reachable HTTP endpoints, add Google Sheets credentials/worksheet selection, and update the configuration URLs/thresholds.
