This hourly n8n automation monitors your active workflows for silent failures, logs incidents in Google Sheets, uses OpenAI to suggest likely causes, and sends instant Slack alerts for both new issues and recovered workflows.

What this workflow does

• Runs every hour on a schedule to keep an always-on eye on workflow health.
• Fetches all active workflows via the n8n API, then skips itself and any workflow with a configured skip tag (example: no-monitor).
• Analyzes recent executions by pulling the 10 most recent runs per workflow and scoring for patterns associated with silent failures (such as missed schedules, repeated zero output, and sudden volume drops).
• Tracks incidents in Google Sheets by reading the Incidents tab and comparing the latest health results to open incidents to decide whether to:
  • open a new incident,
  • resolve an existing one, or
  • replace it when the problem type changes.
• Uses OpenAI for incident triage on new incidents—passing workflow context and run history to generate a severity, likely causes, and a “check first” action.
• Sends Slack notifications for new incidents and recovery updates, including incident resolution timing and downtime hours.
