This Dividend Yield Trap Scanner (n8n) automatically checks your Google Sheets dividend watchlist, evaluates upcoming ex-dividend events and fundamentals, flags higher-risk candidates, and generates an OpenAI-backed JSON caution explanation—then publishes results to Google Sheets, Supabase, and sends a weekly digest to Slack and Gmail.

What this workflow does

• Runs weekly via an n8n schedule trigger.
• Reads your Google Sheets Watchlist tab and keeps only rows marked enabled.
• Calls an HTTP endpoint to fetch upcoming ex-dividend dates, then filters candidates to those with ex-dividend dates in the next 7 days.
• Calls a second HTTP endpoint for dividend fundamentals, merges results with the calendar candidates, and calculates:
  • a dividend sustainability score
  • a yield-trap risk score/level
  • a list of red-flag conditions
• For candidates with a risk score of 60+, uses OpenAI to generate a short JSON explanation (caution note, key concern, investor question) based only on the supplied metrics.
• Logs flagged results to the Google Sheets “Risk Results” tab and inserts the full analysis record into a Supabase table.
• Sends a sorted weekly risk digest to Slack and Gmail (or a “no-risk” digest if none meet the threshold).
