Orchestrate employee onboarding end-to-end with a single webhook

This n8n workflow receives a new-hire POST request and automatically coordinates HR, IAM, IT provisioning, and SaaS access in sequence—then returns a consolidated JSON status report to the original caller.

What this workflow does

• Receives onboarding data via Webhook: exposes an n8n webhook endpoint and listens for new-hire payloads (configured path: employee-onboard).
• Validates and normalizes input: checks required fields, normalizes the employee record, and prepares target API URLs plus a request ID.
• Provisions in HR: calls your HR system API, then records the returned status and employee identifier.
• Provisions identity in IAM: sends an IAM provisioning request and captures the created user ID for downstream steps.
• Sets up core IT resources: creates core IT resources (e.g., email and an IT ticket) via your IT provisioning service and records the outcome.
• Grants SaaS access: provisions access to a configured app list using your SaaS provisioning API, then aggregates HR/IAM/IT/SaaS results into one summary.
• Responds with accurate status: returns a JSON report and an HTTP status that reflects completed, partial, or failed provisioning.

Technical details

• n8n nodes used: webhook, code, wait, http request, respond to webhook, and sticky note.
• Integrations (via HTTP Request): HR system API, IAM/identity provider API, IT provisioning/ticketing API, and SaaS provisioning API.
• Setup required: replace example endpoints (currently httpbin.org) with your real API URLs and add required authentication (e.g., API keys or OAuth headers).
