Automatically assess EU AI Act Article 50 transparency needs—and log evidence in Notion

This n8n workflow receives an HTTP request, determines whether EU AI Act Article 50 transparency obligations apply to the submitted AI system context, and—when required—creates linked Evidence and Action Plan records in Notion.

What this workflow does

  • Receives a POST webhook with organization, AI system details, content, and usage context.
  • Validates the payload and generates an Article 50 assessment using JavaScript rules (including the scenario, required actions, and recommended disclosure text).
  • Immediately returns the assessment result as JSON via webhook response.
  • If the assessment indicates Article 50 applies, it looks up the matching AI asset in a Notion AI inventory database by AI system name.
  • Creates a Notion Evidence record in a compliance evidence database and links it to the AI asset.
  • If there is at least one required action, it creates a Notion Action Plan item linked to both the Evidence record and the AI asset, with priority derived from the applicable Article 50 clause.

Use cases

  • Compliance teams want a repeatable EU AI Act Article 50 check for each AI system deployment or material change.
  • SaaS operators can trigger Article 50 assessments from internal services that collect AI usage context.
  • Automation engineers can centralize compliance documentation by automatically building an audit-ready Evidence + Action Plan trail in Notion.
