Excel-ready contracts to e-signature—with Slack approvals and SharePoint filing
This n8n workflow reads contract rows from an Excel table in SharePoint, generates agreements in TurboDocx, routes them for Slack approval, sends them for e-signature, and files the executed PDFs back into SharePoint—with Slack notifications at each stage.
What this workflow does
- Monitors your Excel queue (every 15 minutes): It reads the SharePoint-connected Excel table and loops through rows marked Ready to send.
- Generates agreements in TurboDocx: For each eligible row, the workflow creates the agreement from a .docx template (using your merge variables and required {client_sig} / {client_date} anchors).
- Requests approval in Slack: It posts an Approve & send / Reject request to the configured Slack channel and waits for the manager’s response.
- Runs e-signature and updates status: On approval, it downloads the PDF and sends it for e-signature; then it marks the Excel row as Sent (or Rejected) and notifies Slack.
- Files executed documents: When signatures are completed, a TurboDocx trigger downloads the executed PDF, files it in SharePoint, marks the row Signed, and notifies Slack again.
Use cases
- SaaS operations teams routing contract generation and approvals to managers in Slack.
- Legal/RevOps workflows where Excel is the source of truth and executed agreements must be consistently archived in SharePoint.
- Automation engineers needing an end-to-end Excel → TurboDocx → Slack → e-signature → SharePoint pipeline in n8n.
Technical details
- Schedule Trigger: runs every 15 minutes (configurable).
- Microsoft Excel + SharePoint: reads the queue table and updates row statuses (Ready to send / Sent / Rejected / Signed).
- TurboDocx: generates agreements from a .docx template and provides signature webhooks via trigger/automation on activation.
- Slack: sends approval requests and sends notifications for sent/signed outcomes.
- n8n nodes used (per workflow build): if, slack, sticky note, microsoft excel, split in batches, schedule trigger.
Requirements: a TurboDocx account, Microsoft 365 (Excel + SharePoint), and a Slack workspace.
