Export Webpage Metadata to CSV with Circadian Page Tools (RapidAPI)
Need a clean CSV of page titles, meta descriptions, canonicals, Open Graph, Twitter fields, and JSON-LD block counts? This n8n workflow exports that metadata for up to 10 authorized public pages per manual run using Circadian Page Tools on RapidAPI—with careful error handling and no LLM required.
What this workflow does
- Runs on demand (manual trigger): you select the URLs, then start the workflow manually.
- Validates your batch first: it validates the whole set of selected URLs before making API requests, and removes exact duplicate URL strings.
- Fetches metadata via RapidAPI: it requests metadata through the fixed Page Tools gateway with one second between requests. Each unique URL consumes one request.
- Separates errors from missing data: retrieval errors, source HTTP errors, truncated responses, and unexpected response bodies stay in their own status fields—while metadata fields and “absent-field” observations remain blank.
- Exports inventory results to CSV: for successful, untruncated responses, it records titles, descriptions, canonical URLs, selected Open Graph and Twitter fields, and parsed JSON-LD block counts (observations, not SEO scores).
- Produces a downloadable file: download metadata-inventory.csv from the final node. The workflow does not update your website or send the report elsewhere.
Use cases
- Audit a small set of landing pages and compile metadata coverage in CSV.
- Compare canonical URL changes across environments (staging vs. production) using “requested URL” vs “final URL”.
- Inventory structured data health by counting JSON-LD blocks across public pages.
Technical details
- RapidAPI integration: Circadian Page Tools (Page Tools gateway)
- n8n nodes used: Manual Trigger, set, code, sticky note, http request, convert to file
- Export logic: keeps requested and final URLs in separate columns; prefixes spreadsheet formula-like text with an apostrophe for safer CSV handling.
- API limits note: BASIC includes 50 requests/month; PRO is USD9.99/month.
