Extract Xiaohongshu (RedNote) note comments and export them to CSV—fully automated in n8n
This n8n workflow scrapes Xiaohongshu (RedNote) comments daily using the Apify UnitBytes actor, normalizes key fields, and exports the results as a downloadable CSV (ideal for Google Sheets and data analysis).
What this workflow does
- Runs every 24 hours via a schedule trigger.
- Uses a Set step to configure your Apify API token and the UnitBytes xiaohongshu-rednote-comments-scraper input (including start URLs, comment limits, and proxy settings).
- Calls Apify through the run-sync-get-dataset-items approach to retrieve extracted comments as JSON.
-
Normalizes each dataset item into a flat structure, including fields such as:
- id, noteId, noteUrl
- content, likeCount, subCommentCount
- Converts normalized results into a CSV file named xiaohongshu-comments-scraper-dataset-export.csv.
Use cases
- Monitor Xiaohongshu note engagement over time with repeatable daily comment exports.
- Feed comment data into Google Sheets or another analytics workflow for reporting and trend tracking.
- Support SaaS operations by consolidating social feedback into structured datasets for downstream processing.
Technical details
- Schedule trigger: runs the workflow every 24 hours
- Nodes used: set, sticky note, http request, convert to file, schedule trigger
- External integration: Apify with the UnitBytes actor xiaohongshu-rednote-comments-scraper
- Output: CSV export (xiaohongshu-comments-scraper-dataset-export.csv)
To customize targets, update the actor input JSON with your Xiaohongshu URLs and desired limits (e.g., maxCommentsPerNote). If you want to store results elsewhere, add a destination node (for example, Google Sheets append rows) after normalization.
