Find ZIP codes within a radius—and automatically save the results to Google Sheets

This n8n workflow lets you collect a ZIP code and a mile radius from an n8n form, query Searchbug’s Zip Code in Radius API, then append each matching ZIP code (with city, state, distance, population, and business counts) as its own row in Google Sheets.

What this workflow does

  • Receives inputs from an n8n form submission: a starting ZIP code and a distance in miles.
  • Calls Searchbug Zip Code in Radius API using an HTTP Request node (api_zipradius) to retrieve matching ZIP codes as JSON.
  • Splits the returned ZIP code list so each ZIP code result is processed individually (city, state, distance, population, and counts).
  • Appends results to Google Sheets, creating one new row per ZIP code with fields aligned to your worksheet headers.

Technical details

  • Workflow nodes/stack: Form Trigger, HTTP Request, Set, Split Out, and Google Sheets (plus supportive nodes like Sticky Note).
  • Searchbug integration: add your Searchbug credentials in the HTTP Request node body parameters (CO_CODE and PASS).
  • Google Sheets output: configure the target spreadsheet and worksheet, and ensure the first row contains headers matching the appended fields exactly: Dist, City, State, Zip, Population, NumberOfBusinesses, NumberOfEmployees.

After activation, share the generated form link so others can run ZIP radius searches and populate your sheet automatically.
