Never run low on stock again—automate reorder points and Telegram alerts from Google Sheets
This n8n workflow calculates per-SKU safety stock and reorder points from your Google Sheets inventory + movement history every morning, updates your Inventory_Master tab, and can send a Telegram digest when items are out of stock or need reordering.
What this workflow does
Scheduled daily at 07:00, the workflow:
- Reads data from your Google Sheet tabs: Inventory (e.g., sku, name, stock_qty, lead_time_days) and Movements (e.g., date, sku, qty_out).
- Combines the datasets and calculates demand signals using the last 90 days of outbound movements.
-
Computes key inventory metrics per SKU, including:
- average daily usage,
- safety stock,
- reorder point,
- days of cover,
- and a suggested order quantity.
- Updates or appends results back into the Inventory_Master tab, matching rows by sku.
- Filters SKUs needing action: out of stock, at/below safety stock, or at/below reorder point.
- Builds a single digest summarizing those SKUs and sends it to Telegram if enabled.
Use cases
- Small warehouses or SaaS ops teams that track inventory in Google Sheets and want automated reorder thresholds.
- Teams that need a daily low-stock summary in Telegram without manually checking spreadsheets.
- Operators who want to maintain an always-current Inventory_Master sheet of reorder recommendations.
Technical details
- n8n nodes/workflow components: Google Sheets, if, code, merge, telegram, plus supporting notes.
- Runs on a daily schedule at 07:00.
- Requires a Google Sheets credential; set your spreadsheet ID in the Google Sheets steps.
- Optional: configure Telegram bot credentials and TELEGRAM_CHAT_ID to enable alerts.
