Turn Hermes X research into scheduled, editor-reviewed image posts—automatically
This n8n workflow converts Hermes Agent research on X topics into original, editor-reviewed image posts. It drafts post text with Anthropic Claude, generates matching PNG images with OpenAI Images, and—once approved—publishes on a timed schedule through Buffer.
What this workflow does
- Starts from an n8n Form submission (or a manual synthetic demo) with a research topic.
- Queries a Hermes research server for recent X posts and X articles, then validates citations, dates, engagement thresholds, quotas, and removes duplicates to create an eligible shortlist.
- Stores candidates in a companion journal service and returns single-use review URLs for editor approval.
- Optionally notifies Discord with a button that links to each candidate’s private review page.
- Generates or approves via webhook callback: when the journal calls back with a generate/approve action, the workflow claims the action once and verifies the selected Buffer channel is connected to X.
- For generation, it drafts original X post text and an image prompt with Anthropic Claude, generates a matching PNG using OpenAI Images, and saves the immutable draft and image in the journal for final review.
- For approval with a scheduled UTC time, it publishes the approved image and creates a scheduled X post in Buffer, then records the Buffer result for reconciliation if needed.
Use cases
- SaaS teams turning ongoing Hermes topic research into consistent visual X campaigns.
- Automation engineers building an approval-gated content pipeline with Claude + OpenAI image generation.
- Operators scheduling “review-first” social posts with Buffer, backed by a journal audit trail.
