Create 30-second “Would You Rather” Shorts automatically with n8n, Claude Opus, and Shotstack

This n8n workflow generates a complete vertical TikTok/Reels/YouTube Shorts episode from a single theme—complete with four “Would you rather” questions, split-screen AI images, a timer, and voice narration prompting viewers to comment “A” or “B”. No templates to babysit: it self-checks the edit before anything is rendered.

What this workflow does

• Bootstraps once, then scales per theme: It downloads Shotstack’s guide for AI agents once, then creates one video per theme you provide.
• Claude Opus writes the whole Short: Claude Opus 5.5 generates the four questions and the full Shotstack edit, including 8 “Nano Banana 2” images, the split-screen layout, timer, voices, and a track from Shotstack’s music library.
• Pre-flight edit check (saves costs): A Code step checks the edit before rendering. It fixes small issues itself, and sends anything else back to Claude to correct.
• Render with retry behavior: One Shotstack render generates the images, voices, and the final Short saved to your would-you-rather folder. If Shotstack rejects the edit or rendering fails, Claude fixes it—up to two times.
• Self-hosted n8n only: Designed for self-hosted n8n workflows.
