Turn competitor research into quote-backed sales battlecards—automatically
This n8n workflow takes a competitor domain from a form submitter, pulls key website pages and G2 review excerpts using Bright Data, then uses OpenAI (GPT-5.6) to generate a verified sales battlecard and publishes it to Google Docs and Slack.
What this workflow does
- Receives a request from a form submission containing the competitor’s domain (optional name), your product, and notes about where you’re losing.
- Finds and fetches competitor pages using Bright Data SERP (homepage, pricing, customers/case studies, and product/features), then retrieves selected pages with Bright Data Web Unlocker.
- Extracts evidence by extracting and trimming readable text (including price lines when present) to build a concise evidence set.
- Collects G2 signals by locating the competitor’s G2 reviews URL via Bright Data SERP and fetching “like” and “dislike” excerpts plus rating metadata (when found).
- Generates a battlecard with direct quotes using GPT-5.6, combining website evidence and review evidence into a single evidence pack.
- Verifies every quoted line: it checks that each quote exists in the fetched evidence, removes any unverifiable lines, and tracks how many quotes were dropped.
- Publishes the result by formatting the final text for Google Docs, creating a new document, posting the link to a configured Slack channel, and returning the document link and full battlecard to the original form submitter.
Use cases
- Sales teams needing fast, fact-checked competitor battlecards for outbound and discovery calls
- SaaS operators improving messaging after identifying “where we’re losing”
- Automation engineers standardizing competitor research workflows in n8n
