This n8n workflow automatically checks your contract renewal schedule in Google Sheets, calculates notice deadlines and urgency tiers, and—only when action is needed—uses OpenAI to generate a concise internal digest email sent via Gmail.

What this workflow does

• Runs daily on weekdays at 08:00 (or can be started manually).
• Reads renewal data from the Google Sheets “Contracts” tab, using your configured spreadsheet selection and alert email settings.
• Calculates notice deadlines for each contract (renewal date minus notice days), then assigns an urgency tier such as urgent, warning, notice missed, or unparseable.
• Ignores irrelevant entries, including contracts marked cancelled and renewals that are already passed.
• Generates a digest only when necessary: contracts that require no action are filtered out, and only flagged items are summarized.
• Uses an OpenAI chat model to turn the flagged digest into a short internal to-do style email.
• Sends one email via Gmail to your configured recipient—sending nothing when there are no flagged contracts.
