Get a daily Slack digest of fresh RSS items that match your keywords (last 24 hours)

This n8n workflow scans multiple RSS/Atom feeds every morning, filters items from the last 24 hours by your keyword list, deduplicates results, and posts up to 25 matching links into Slack—automatically. If nothing matches, it posts nothing.

What this workflow does

  • Runs daily at 08:00 based on your n8n instance timezone.
  • Monitors multiple RSS feed URLs and defines a keywords list to match against.
  • Fetches the latest items from each configured RSS/Atom feed.
  • Filters to the last 24 hours by item publication time.
  • Keeps only items where the title or snippet contains any keyword.
  • Removes duplicate links to avoid spam in your digest.
  • Formats a single Slack message capped at 25 links and posts it to your selected Slack channel.
  • Doesn’t post anything when there are zero matches.

Use cases

  • SaaS operators track product updates, release notes, or announcements from industry sources—only the keywords you care about.
  • Automation engineers monitor engineering blogs or documentation feeds for breaking changes and relevant mentions.
  • Teams centralize “in the last day” insights in Slack, without manual browsing or noisy feed subscriptions.

Technical details

  • Schedule Trigger to run every day at 08:00.
  • RSS Feed Read to pull items from your configured feed URLs.
  • Code step to define feeds and keywords, apply the 24-hour filter, keyword matching (title/snippet), deduplication, and the 25-item cap.
  • Slack integration to post the digest to a chosen channel (using OAuth credentials with permission such as chat:write).
  • Sticky Note for workflow guidance.

Setup is simple: update the feeds and keywords in the code step, add Slack OAuth, select the target channel (and channel ID if needed), then optionally adjust the schedule time or the 24-hour window/limit in the digest formatting code.
