This n8n Finance Chatbot workflow turns incoming questions from WhatsApp (WAHA) and Telegram into concise, number-checked replies pulled from Xero. It uses OpenAI to interpret intent and generate a response, optionally shares updates to Slack, and keeps conversation state in an n8n Data Table.

What this workflow does

• Receives messages from WhatsApp via a WAHA webhook (HMAC verification) or from a Telegram bot trigger.
• Normalizes input into a consistent format and blocks unauthorized senders using an allowed-users list.
• Loads prior conversation state from an n8n Data Table to detect whether the user is sending a follow-up related to Slack sharing or starting a new request.
• For new finance requests, classifies intent with OpenAI (e.g., accounts receivable, cash position, or bills due this week). If the intent is unknown, it replies with help text.
• Connects to Xero (via OAuth2), selects the correct Xero tenant/organization, and queries relevant Xero endpoints to produce a canonical text summary.
• Rewrites and validates the answer with OpenAI, ensuring it matches the canonical Xero numbers, then asks the user whether to post the update to Slack.
• Persists updated state and sends the final reply back to the originating channel (WhatsApp/Telegram). If confirmed, it posts the previous answer to Slack.

• Sales or finance teams ask on WhatsApp, “What’s our cash position?” and receive a validated Xero summary.
• Owners check accounts receivable and request a quick status without logging into Xero.
