Turn flight monitoring into real-time notifications. With n8n FlightByte Alerts, you submit passenger flight details to FlightByte for monitoring, then receive verified flight change events delivered to Slack, with optional SendGrid email and Twilio SMS—while storing passenger contacts in an n8n Data Table.

What this workflow does

• Collects flight details via an n8n Form trigger and creates (or reuses) the flightbyte_passengers n8n Data Table.
• Subscribes each flight to FlightByte by sending flight information and the workflow’s webhook URL to the FlightByte API, then saving the returned subscription ID alongside passenger contact details.
• Receives FlightByte webhook events and validates the HMAC signature and timestamp for security.
• Stops webhook retries immediately by responding with HTTP 204.
• Deduplicates and routes events to handle event types like flight update, test, suspended, and completed subscriptions.
• For flight updates:
  • Looks up the passenger row, formats a Slack message, and posts to Slack.
  • Sends SendGrid email for selected change types (e.g., gate, time, delay, cancellation, diversion).
  • Sends Twilio SMS for cancellations/diversions or arrival delays of 60 minutes or more.
• For completed subscriptions: deletes the passenger row from the flightbyte_passengers Data Table. For test/suspended events, posts a notification to Slack.
