Automatically create a normalized Google Drive client folder from an n8n Form submission
This n8n workflow uses an n8n Form Trigger to capture new client details (name, email, company) and then creates a consistently named folder in Google Drive—returning the normalized fields plus the folder ID and direct URL.
What this workflow does
- Receives a new form submission from an n8n Form that collects the client’s name, email, and company.
- Cleans and normalizes inputs: trims whitespace, lowercases the email, and generates a safe folder name in the format YYYY-MM-DD - Company - Name.
- Creates a Google Drive folder inside your configured parent Drive and parent folder.
- Outputs useful results, including the normalized client details, the created folder name, the folder ID, and a direct folder URL.
Use cases
- Client onboarding: each new client submission automatically gets a dedicated Google Drive workspace.
- Operations & account management: standardize where client documents live without manual folder naming.
- Service/SaaS workflows: trigger folder creation the moment a lead or client submits an n8n Form.
- Consistent organization: ensure folder names follow a predictable date + company + name pattern for easy searching.
Technical details
- Nodes / tech stack: set, sticky note, form trigger, google drive.
- Google Drive integration: requires a connected Google Drive OAuth2 credential.
- Folder placement: choose the target parent Drive and parent Folder where new client folders are created.
- Verification: run a test execution and submit via the Form Trigger test URL to confirm the folder is created and the output includes the direct folder URL.
