Turn your blog RSS into LinkedIn drafts—automatically (and safely) with OpenAI + Gmail
This n8n workflow runs every morning, reads your blog’s RSS feed, generates LinkedIn-ready post copy with OpenAI, and saves each result as a Gmail draft for you to review—so nothing gets posted automatically.
What this workflow does
- Runs on a daily schedule (currently set to 8:00).
- Loads configuration values such as your RSS feed URL, brand voice, look-back window, and maximum posts per run.
- Reads your blog RSS feed and filters items to keep only posts published within the configured look-back window.
- Limits processing to a maximum number of posts per run to control output volume.
- Uses OpenAI to generate LinkedIn copy from each eligible post’s title, link, and snippet, keeping the result to up to 120 words and matching your specified voice.
- Creates a Gmail draft containing the generated LinkedIn text so you can approve and publish manually.
Use cases
- SaaS operators who want consistent LinkedIn presence based on new blog content.
- Automation engineers building an n8n content pipeline that turns RSS into social drafts.
- Teams that prefer human review before posting on LinkedIn.
- Founders who want brand-voice-aligned LinkedIn updates without writing from scratch.
Technical details (n8n)
- Uses nodes/tools: rss feed read, filter, limit, set, sticky note (for documentation), gmail.
- OpenAI step: select your OpenAI model in the workflow and generate LinkedIn post copy (max 120 words) using configured brand voice.
- Gmail OAuth: requires permission to create drafts in your mailbox.
Setup checklist
- Add an OpenAI credential and choose the model in the OpenAI step.
- Add a Gmail OAuth credential with draft creation access.
- Update the RSS feed URL, brand voice, look-back hours, maximum posts per run, and the daily schedule time.
