Automatically score and rank Notion sourcing initiatives—then alert your team
This n8n Notion Risk Scoring Workflow runs every Monday morning to find unscored initiatives in Notion, calculate a risk-weighted priority score, optionally generate a Groq-based rationale, update Notion, post a ranked report to Slack, and send a Gmail alert if the top score is critical.
What this workflow does
- Scheduled run: Executes weekly on Mondays at 08:00.
- Pull unscored initiatives: Retrieves all pages in your target Notion database where “Priority Score” is empty, and maps key project metrics into a working structure.
- Calculate a priority score: Computes a score using `Value`, `Urgency`, `Supplier Risk`, `Business Impact`, and `Effort` to produce a risk-weighted priority.
- Generate AI rationale (Groq): For items with a priority score of 20+, it uses Groq to generate a 2-sentence procurement rationale. Items below 20 receive a default rationale.
- Update Notion: Sorts initiatives by priority (highest first) and writes back “Priority Score” and “AI Rationale” to each Notion page.
- Report to Slack: Sends a single “Weekly Sourcing Priority Report” message to your Slack channel with the ranked results.
- Critical Gmail alerts: Checks the highest score in the batch and emails via Gmail if it exceeds 50.
Use cases
- Procurement teams need a weekly sourcing prioritization system without manual scoring.
- SaaS operators want risk-based visibility into suppliers and sourcing initiatives in Notion.
- Automation engineers require a practical Notion + Groq + Slack pipeline with email escalation for high-risk items.
