Turn Indonesian legal (hukum) RSS news into a clean Google Sheets digest—automatically
This n8n workflow monitors multiple Indonesian RSS feeds, uses OpenRouter to filter for “hukum” topics, fetches the full articles via Browserless, rewrites each story in two editorial styles, and appends the results to Google Sheets—matched by GUID.
What this workflow does
- Manual start: Designed to run when you trigger it manually from n8n.
- Collects RSS items: Reads the latest items from AntaraNews, SindoNews, and Viva.co.id RSS feeds, then merges them into a single list.
- Filters legal topics with OpenRouter: Sends the merged items to OpenRouter to select only articles relevant to Indonesia “hukum”. The output is returned as structured JSON containing selected titles and GUIDs.
- Preserves original metadata: Matches the filtered GUIDs back to the original RSS items to carry forward full RSS fields (link, dates, categories, snippets).
- Fetches full pages + rewrites in 2 styles: For each retained article, uses Browserless to fetch the web page content, then uses OpenRouter again to rewrite the story into two distinct editorial styles with a structured output schema.
- Updates your Google Sheets digest: Appends or updates rows in Google Sheets (matched by GUID) with the original RSS fields plus both rewritten titles and story bodies.
Use cases
- Maintain a daily/weekly legal news brief for Indonesia in Google Sheets.
- Assist legal ops, compliance, or research teams with curated headlines and reformatted summaries.
- SaaS operators who want an RSS → LLM rewrite → spreadsheet pipeline without manual copy/paste.
Technical details
- n8n nodes / components: Code, Merge, Sticky Note, RSS Feed Read, Google Sheets, Manual Trigger.
- OpenRouter integration: Used for both filtering (“hukum” relevance) and rewriting into two editorial styles via structured output.
- Browserless integration: Fetches full article page content for higher-quality rewriting.
- Google Sheets: Uses OAuth2, configurable spreadsheet/tab selection, and column mapping aligned to your digest layout (updates by GUID).
