See what’s surging in your RSS world—automatically

n8n RSS Rising Topics Detector: HTML & CSV Brief Export monitors four RSS/Atom feeds, compares topic coverage in a fresh time window vs an earlier baseline, and then outputs a downloadable HTML “momentum brief” plus a CSV of topic metrics that label topics as Rising, Surging, Active, Cooling, or Quiet.

What this workflow does

  • Runs twice daily on weekdays at 08:00 and 20:00 UTC (or can be started manually).
  • Loads your configured RSS/Atom feed URLs, topic keyword lists, exclusions, and time windows from the workflow settings.
  • Fetches items from the four RSS feeds, then filters out undated/too-old entries, applies excluded keywords, and removes duplicate links per publisher.
  • Assigns each retained article to its strongest-matching topic using keyword hits in the title and summary.
  • Groups similar headlines within each topic to treat near-duplicates as a single story.
  • Compares grouped story counts in the fresh window vs baseline to compute momentum metrics and classify topic status.
  • Generates an HTML brief including linked examples, feed health, and warnings, and exports a CSV with metrics for every configured topic.

Use cases

  • Track emerging product, technology, or industry narratives for a SaaS team.
  • Give operators a daily/bi-daily “what changed” briefing sourced from RSS/Atom.
  • Validate whether specific keywords/topics are rising vs cooling over time for marketing or research.
