n8n Vendor Outage & Breach Monitor: Bright Data + Slack

Stop vendor surprises before they impact your customers

This n8n workflow monitors the third-party vendors your website relies on by checking their Statuspage for outages and degradations, scanning recent news, and sending only change-based alerts to Slack (and Gmail for critical items). It also generates an OpenAI-powered “what it means / do now” brief for each flagged vendor.

What this workflow does

• Runs daily on a schedule or on-demand via an n8n form submission.
• Fetches your homepage with Bright Data Web Unlocker and extracts a ranked list of third-party vendor domains (plus any extra domains you provide).
• Checks each vendor’s Statuspage summary JSON (via Bright Data) to detect incidents, component degradations, and upcoming maintenance.
• For selected vendors, searches Google News via Bright Data SERP and classifies relevant headlines into signals such as outage, breach, acquisition, shutdown, layoffs, or pricing.
• Compares results to a stored baseline in an n8n Data Table and flags only vendors whose indicators/incidents/news signals changed.
• Uses OpenAI (GPT-5.6) to create a concise assessment with a “what it means” and “do now” recommendation based on the collected evidence.
• Alerts your team in Slack, and for critical findings sends an email via Gmail; non-actionable outcomes are logged quietly.
