Auto-clip your YouTube Shorts candidates and get human approval—end to end
This n8n workflow automatically checks your YouTube channel RSS feed, sends the newest unprocessed video to OpenShorts for 9:16 clip generation, and then delivers the resulting clips to Telegram for approval. Only approved clips get scheduled for multi-platform posting through OpenShorts—plus you receive a weekly analytics digest.
What this workflow does
- Daily at 09:00: reads your YouTube channel RSS feed, finds the newest unprocessed video, and selects it for processing.
- OpenShorts clipping request: submits the YouTube URL to the OpenShorts API to generate short-form 9:16 clips and provides an n8n webhook URL for completion callbacks.
- Processing control + notifications: marks the video as processed only after OpenShorts accepts the job. Telegram notifies you when clipping starts, and alerts you if OpenShorts rejects the request (e.g., quota limits).
- On OpenShorts completion: receives webhook events and sends each generated clip to Telegram (or a download link if it’s too large), with inline Publish and Skip buttons.
- Human approval in Telegram: when you tap Publish, it checks the current OpenShorts scheduled queue and selects the next available posting date (one per day).
- Schedule via OpenShorts: schedules the approved clip to the configured platforms—TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube—and reports success/failure back in Telegram.
- Weekly at Sunday 18:00: pulls weekly impressions and per-post metrics from OpenShorts analytics and sends a Telegram summary digest.
Use cases
- Content teams who want AI-assisted clipping with editorial review before publishing.
- SaaS operators managing multiple channels who need consistent daily short scheduling.
- Automation engineers deploying a reliable YouTube → OpenShorts → Telegram approval → multi-platform posting pipeline.
Technical details
