Track your brand’s Google paid ads every morning—automatically
This n8n workflow scrapes Google paid search ads for your brand queries using Bright Data, logs every sighting to Google Sheets, analyzes notable changes with GPT-5.6, and sends concise alerts and digests to Slack.
What this workflow does
- Runs daily at 07:00 and loads your brand, markets, query modifiers, and your Slack / channel settings.
- Builds a fixed grid of brand search queries per market (including city-level location) and calls the Bright Data SERP API for each Google results page.
- Extracts advertisers from both the top and bottom ad blocks, deduplicates results per query/location, and keeps the workflow running even when no ads are returned.
- Compares sightings against an n8n Data Table roster to increment counts, detect new advertisers, spot headline rewrites, and mark advertisers as missing/stopped after a configurable number of missed sweeps.
- Writes all real sightings to the Google Sheets “sightings” tab and upserts roster metrics back into the Data Table.
- Uses OpenAI GPT-5.6 for change intelligence: only new, rewritten, or newly stopped rival ads are sent to classify intent and summarize creative—then routed to escalation, digest, or quiet handling.
- Posts a single consolidated Slack message for the escalation/digest lane; does nothing when there are no noteworthy changes.
Use cases
- Monitor competitors bidding on your brand across multiple markets and cities.
- Detect sudden creative changes (e.g., headline rewrites) and respond faster.
- Track when rival advertisers stop running brand ads for a period.
Technical details
- Integrations: Bright Data SERP API, Google Sheets, Slack, OpenAI (GPT-5.6).
- n8n node types used: set, code, no op, slack, filter, switch.
