Turn meeting transcripts into Claude-checked minutes—save to Google Sheets, and notify Slack automatically
This n8n workflow collects meeting transcripts from an n8n Form, uses Anthropic Claude to generate structured, quote-backed minutes, validates every item in code against the transcript, then writes the results to Google Sheets and posts a status summary to Slack.
What this workflow does
- Receives meeting inputs (title, date, attendees, and transcript) via an n8n Form trigger.
- Cleans and validates the transcript length (rejects transcripts that are too short or too long) and generates a stable meeting ID from title/date/transcript.
- Prevents duplicates by reading the Google Sheets “Minutes” tab; if the meeting is already processed, it posts a skip reason to Slack.
- Generates structured minutes with Claude (JSON including summary, decisions, action items, and open questions), requiring a verbatim supporting quote for every item.
- Verifies each AI-generated item in code by checking that quotes and due-text appear in the transcript, owners match the provided attendees, and all numbers are present in the transcript.
- Resolves due phrases into an ISO due date when possible.
- Writes results to Google Sheets: one roll-up row to “Minutes” and one row per extracted item to “Items”.
- Posts a formatted summary to Slack, flagging any items marked “Needs review.”
Use cases
- Automate meeting minutes creation for SaaS teams using transcripts from a web form.
- Ensure reliability by validating Claude outputs against the original transcript before saving to Google Sheets.
- Get instant Slack updates with action items that require human review.
Technical details
- Integrations/Credentials: Google Sheets (OAuth2), Anthropic, and Slack.
- Slack behavior: posts to the target channel after processing (or when skipping duplicates / flagging “Needs review”).
- Core nodes/tools: form trigger, if, set, code, slack, sticky note (for operator visibility), and the Google Sheets reads/writes to “Minutes” and “Items”.
