Automatically draft Google review replies—using Bright Data, GPT, and Slack

This n8n workflow finds unanswered Google Business Profile reviews every day, builds a local competitor benchmark with Bright Data, uses GPT to draft a professional response, and then posts a digest to Slack. When enabled, it can also publish safe replies back to Google.

What this workflow does

• Runs on a schedule: executes daily at 09:00.
• Finds unanswered reviews: fetches up to your configured limit of Google Business Profile reviews and keeps only those without an existing owner reply.
• Enriches context with competitors: if unanswered reviews exist, it triggers Bright Data Google Maps discovery for your configured business category and city, waits until the snapshot is ready, and downloads local competitor results.
• Creates a local benchmark: extracts ratings, review counts, and positive review snippets to provide response context for each review.
• Drafts replies with OpenAI: sends each review plus the benchmark to OpenAI to generate a structured draft reply, a short theme, and an escalation flag (whether it should be handled by a human).
• Applies guardrails: holds drafts when they’re missing/too long, when the review is low-star, or when escalation is flagged; optionally auto-replies the approved ones back to Google Business Profile.
• Documents and communicates: appends each draft to a Google Sheets “Replies” tab and posts a Slack digest showing each reply’s status.
