Generate Text-to-Video MP4s with Seadanse in n8n (Auto-Download Included)

This n8n workflow lets you submit a text-to-video generation request to the Seadanse API, automatically polls until the run succeeds, and then downloads the resulting MP4 to your local output directory.

What this workflow does

When you run the workflow manually, it performs the full Seadanse text-to-video pipeline end-to-end:

• Builds and validates request settings (prompt, model, duration, aspect ratio, resolution, maxCredits, and a unique idempotency requestId).
• Creates a Seadanse generation request and stores the returned run ID.
• Polls job status every 10 seconds until the generation succeeds or fails, with a 30-minute timeout.
• On success, selects the returned file entries and requests a temporary download grant URL from Seadanse.
• Downloads the MP4 from the granted URL and saves it to your configured local outputDirectory, using a filename that includes the run ID and file ID.

Technical details

• Trigger: Manual Trigger (run on demand).
• Seadanse API authentication: Create an API key with generation read/write permissions and add it to n8n as Header Auth (Authorization: Bearer <API_KEY>).
• Nodes/tech used: if, code, wait, sticky note, HTTP Request, and manual trigger.
• Flow logic: HTTP Request for create generation, HTTP Request for get generation status (polled every 10s), then HTTP Request for get download grant and the MP4 download.

Setup tip: Update the initial settings step (especially prompt, the reusable requestId for retries, maxCredits, and local outputDirectory), and ensure your n8n instance has permission to write to the output path.
