Turn Google Sheets blog ideas into Groq-written drafts, LinkedIn posts, and scheduled WordPress articles—with Slack approval
This n8n workflow automatically pulls queued blog topics from Google Sheets, generates a full draft with Groq (Llama 3.3), creates a Google Doc for review, schedules a matching LinkedIn post via Buffer, and—after Slack approval—publishes the post in WordPress and updates the sheet.
What this workflow does
- Runs every Friday at 09:00 and processes up to two queued topics per run.
- Reads the Google Sheets queue and keeps only rows where a unique angle is filled in.
- Uses Groq to generate:
- An outline
- A full draft
- a critique + edit pass to produce the final markdown article
- Calculates publish timing for next Monday or Thursday at 08:00, then generates SEO metadata (title, description, slug, excerpt) with Groq and validates the SEO JSON.
- Converts markdown into a document, uploads it to Google Drive as a Google Doc, and creates/schedules a LinkedIn post via Buffer.
- Sends a Slack approval request including the publish date and Google Doc link; on approval, exports the Google Doc to HTML and creates a scheduled WordPress post.
- Updates the Google Sheets row to mark the item as scheduled and stores the WordPress post ID.
Use cases
- SaaS teams that plan weekly content in Google Sheets and want consistent drafts + SEO metadata.
- Automation engineers coordinating multi-step publishing with human review via Slack.
- Operations workflows that publish on a set cadence (Mon/Thu 08:00) with LinkedIn scheduling support.
