This n8n workflow monitors employee probation periods stored in Google Sheets, sends scheduled Slack reminders as deadlines approach, and captures final probation decisions from Slack emoji reactions. New-hire probation details are collected via an n8n Form, validated to prevent duplicates, and confirmed to managers by Gmail.

What this workflow does

• Runs daily on a schedule to pull all probation records from Google Sheets.
• Calculates the probation deadline using StartDate + Duration or an ExtendedUntil value.
• Posts the correct Slack reminder tier (30/15/0-day messages) when deadlines are due.
• Updates Google Sheets to mark that the appropriate reminder tier was sent.
• Collects new probation details from an n8n Form trigger, validates the submission, and checks Google Sheets to prevent duplicate Employee IDs.
• Emails managers via Gmail after acceptance or rejection—sending the rejection reason when not accepted.
• Waits for Slack reactions (when a reaction is added), extracts the Employee ID from the reacted reminder message, and matches it to the correct Google Sheets row.
• Validates the emoji decision and the reactor (must match the assigned manager), then updates Google Sheets with the probation decision (or a 30-day extension) and posts confirmations to Slack, including an offboarding alert if applicable.
