Turn every RSS post into ready-to-post X thread variants—automatically
This n8n workflow watches an RSS/Atom feed for new items, then uses SocialSwarm to generate three complete X (Twitter) thread variants for each new post. Each variant is split into its own item so you can route it to review, storage, or scheduling tools.
What this workflow does
- Monitors your blog/newsletter RSS feed using the RSS Feed Read Trigger.
- When a new entry appears, it sends the new post URL to SocialSwarm.
- SocialSwarm returns an array of thread variants (configured to generate three with different hooks).
- The workflow splits the variants so each thread becomes a separate output item, including hook, tweet count, tweet text, and character counts.
- Outputs each thread variant for downstream routing to tools like Slack, Notion, Google Sheets, or a scheduling node.
Use cases
- SaaS content teams: automatically convert new blog posts into multiple X thread options for quicker publication.
- Agencies managing client feeds: monitor any feed URL and generate variant threads for approval workflows.
- Solo operators: build a repeatable n8n automation that saves time and improves consistency across X updates.
Technical details
- RSS Feed Read Trigger (no credentials required)
- SocialSwarm API credential using an API key from the SocialSwarm developer portal (free plan available)
- n8n node: SocialSwarm (n8n-nodes-socialswarmsocial swarm) to generate thread variants
- Split Out to turn the variants array into individual items (one per thread)
- Sticky Note for workflow clarity/documentation
Setup is straightforward: update the RSS feed URL, add your SocialSwarm API key, optionally adjust the variantCount, then connect the output items to your destination.
