What this workflow does

• Runs weekly on a schedule and loads configuration values such as your Google Sheet ID, Calendar ID, Slack channel ID, and a lookahead window.
• Reads roster and staffing from Google Sheets—including staff details (person, email, certification, expiry) and per-session staffing assignments.
• Loads per-session coverage rules from an n8n Data Table to determine what certification coverage each session requires.
• Fetches Google Calendar events within the lookahead window (including expanded recurring instances) and extracts a session code like [FA-101] from each event title.
• Validates certifications by matching each event to staffing and rules using the session code, then compares staff certification expiry dates to the session date to compute certified headcount and shortfalls.
• Generates a Slack-ready report highlighting under-covered sessions with a minimal renewal plan, warning about unmatched/unvalidated events, and summarizing fully covered sessions.
• Posts to Slack and sends one Gmail renewal email per staffer whose certification is lapsed, listing affected upcoming sessions and the earliest renew-by date.
