n8n Workflow: WhatsApp Google Review Requests in Google Sheets

Turn Google Sheet entries into WhatsApp Google review requests—automatically

This n8n workflow watches your Google Sheets client list, waits a configurable delay, then sends each client a personalized WhatsApp request to leave a Google review. It also logs outcomes back to the sheet and can send one reminder if the review hasn’t been marked as completed.

What this workflow does

• Triggers on new rows: Starts when a new row is added to a specified Google Sheets worksheet (client list).
• Builds the message payload: Reads configurable values (review link, business name, country code, delays) and merges them with the new row’s data.
• Normalizes and validates phone numbers: Cleans the Phone field into an international digits-only format. If it can’t be normalized, the workflow updates Google Sheets with “Invalid phone” and notes the issue.
• Sends the initial WhatsApp request: After the configured number of hours, it sends a personalized Google review request via WhatsApp Notifications by SyncMate. The sheet is updated to “Requested” with a timestamp or “Failed” with the error message.
• Checks for review completion: After the configured number of days, it fetches the latest version of the same row and checks whether Reviewed equals “Yes”.
• Sends one reminder if needed: If not reviewed, it sends a single WhatsApp reminder via SyncMate and updates Google Sheets with “Reminder sent” or “Reminder failed”.

Technical details

• Google Sheets: Trigger on new row; read configurable settings; update status columns (Requested/Failed/Reminder sent) and validation notes.
• WhatsApp Notifications by SyncMate (Assistro): Sends WhatsApp review requests and the optional reminder using your SyncMate API token.
• Workflow nodes: if, set, code, wait, filter, sticky note.

Setup note: Connect your Google Sheets credentials and select the correct spreadsheet/sheet in each Google Sheets step, then install the community node WhatsApp Notifications by SyncMate and provide your SyncMate (Assistro) API token.
