Turn new YouTube uploads into a daily Telegram digest—automatically summarized by Gemini
This n8n YouTube RSS Digest to Telegram w/ Gemini Summaries workflow checks your selected YouTube channels every morning, detects newly published videos, generates concise Google Gemini summaries from each video’s title and description, and sends a combined HTML digest to your Telegram chat.
What this workflow does
- Runs daily at 8am on a schedule.
- Loads a list of YouTube channel IDs, a configurable lookback window (hours), and your Telegram chat ID.
- Fetches each channel’s YouTube RSS feed and continues even if a channel feed fails.
- Filters to keep only videos published within the lookback window.
- Prevents duplicates by removing videos that were already sent in previous executions.
- Uses Google Gemini (PaLM) to create a summary consisting of a one-sentence summary plus a “Worth watching if” line based on the RSS title and description.
- Builds an HTML Telegram digest and splits it into multiple messages when needed to stay within Telegram’s message length limit.
- Sends the message(s) to your configured Telegram chat.
Use cases
- Stay up to date on niche YouTube channels without manually checking feeds.
- Share a daily “what’s new” digest with a team via Telegram, complete with AI takeaways.
- Automate content monitoring for SaaS operators tracking competitor or creator updates.
