Automatically pick the right LinkedIn Topic from your Notion tasks—using an n8n webhook
This Notion to LinkedIn Topic Selector workflow listens for a Notion task via webhook, finds the first available “Assunto” (topic) with a LinkedIn-ready “Anotação” that hasn’t been published yet, and then writes the selected relations back to the task and its parent tasks in Notion.
What this workflow does
-
Receives a webhook POST with the Notion task page object in
body.tarefa. -
Loads related Notion pages:
- Fetches the task’s related Projetos and their Taxonomia, keeping only projects tagged “Post”.
- For each matching Post project, loads related Conhecimentos and their Taxonomias, keeping only items tagged “Assunto”.
-
Traverses the “Assunto” hierarchy:
- Recursively loads each candidate Assunto’s Subitem structure and associated Anotações, including their Taxonomias and Resultados.
- Selects the first publishable match where an Anotação is tagged “Post” and “LinkedIn”, and has an empty “Resultados” relation (i.e., not yet published).
-
Updates Notion relations:
- Writes the chosen 📚 Conhecimentos and 📝 Anotação back to the original task.
- Updates each related “Item pai” page with the same relations.
Use cases
- When a new content task is created in Notion, automatically assign the correct LinkedIn topic and annotation.
- Queue posts by ensuring selection only happens for Anotações whose Resultados are still empty (not published).
- Keep parent task pages consistent by updating both the task and its Item pai relations.
Technical details
- Nodes/approach: webhook, http request (Notion API with Bearer Auth), split out, if, and code, plus a sticky note for workflow notes.
- Setup requires: a Notion integration token with access to the relevant databases/pages and configuring the workflow variable
Notion_Versionfor the Notion API request header.
Perfect for n8n automation engineers and SaaS operators building reliable Notion-driven content pipelines for LinkedIn topic selection.
