Turn your Notion data into a weekly Sunday email digest—automatically

This n8n workflow generates a plain-text Notion Weekly Sunday Digest Email by pulling overdue invoices, active projects, pipeline deals needing attention, and upcoming draft/scheduled content—then sending everything to your inbox via SMTP every Sunday.

What this workflow does

Designed to keep SaaS operators and automation engineers on top of key work items, the workflow:

  • Runs every Sunday at 09:00 (or via a manual test trigger).
  • Finance (Invoices): reads your Notion Finance database and selects pages where Status equals Overdue.
  • Projects: reads your Notion Projects database and selects pages where Status equals Active.
  • Pipeline deals: reads your Notion Pipeline database and keeps deals in Contacted, Proposal, or Negotiation where Last touched is missing or older than a configured threshold.
  • Content: reads your Notion Content database and keeps items where Status is Draft or Scheduled.
  • Emails results: builds a plain-text email with counts and bullet lists for each section and sends it using the n8n Email (SMTP) node.

Use cases

  • Weekly end-of-week review: quickly see overdue invoices and active projects in one email.
  • Pipeline hygiene: identify deals where Last touched is missing/too old and prioritize outreach.
  • Content planning: monitor which Draft or Scheduled items need attention.

Technical details

  • Triggers/nodes: manual trigger, set, code, notion, sticky note, Email Send (SMTP).
  • Setup: create a Notion integration, connect and share all four databases, then paste the four Notion database IDs and recipient email into workflow settings.
  • Compatibility: ensure your Notion property names match expected fields (e.g., Name, Status, Amount, Stage, Last touched, Deal name, Title) or update the filters/digest logic.
